Arizona Museum of Natural History, originally the Mesa Southewest Museum, is a historical museum located in Mesa, Arizona. The museum includes exhibits about the natural and cultural history of the Southwestern United States.
The Arizona Museum of Natural History is dedicated to the continuing discovery of life before you know it. The dinosaurs are life-size and life-like right down to the roars. Dinosaur Mountain is the largest dinosaur exhibit west of the Mississippi River.
When you head into the Southwest Gallery, you will see ancient cultures from central Arizona. From Paleoindian hunters more 13,000 years ago to Hohokam farmers that existed until about A.D. 1450, you will begin to understand the evolution of the ancient people.
The Spanish Arizona area takes you through the history from the Spanish conquistadors to Arizona becoming a United States Territory. The museum is closed on Mondays and holidays and charges for admission from free for children below up to $10 for adults.
